Udid: Govt To Link State-run Portal With Centre’s Swavalamban Website | Jaipur News
Jaipur: In a bid to provide relief to specially abled people in applying for unique ID (UDID) cards, the state government has decided to link the state-run SAP (specially abled person) portal with the Centre’s Swavalambancard portal, according to informed sources in the department.
An RTI reply received from the state’s directorate of specially abled persons also confirmed the information. Earlier, in a letter to the additional director of the directorate of specially abled persons, the chief medical and health officer (CMHO) of Sawai Madhopur district sought detailed guidelines from the department for issuing UDID cards to those persons with disabilities (PwDs) who had applied for it through the central government run Swavlambancard portal and not through the state-run PwD portal.
The letter also cited the example of a specially abled beneficiary who had applied for a UDID card through the central government run Swavlambancard portal.
It also stated that there is no provision available for the CMHO’s office to have access to data fed into the Swavlambancard portal for registration of UDID numbers.
“The government should have linked both the portals much earlier. They shouldn’t have delayed it,” said Hemant Bhai Goyal, national vice-president, Divyang Adhikar Mahasangh.
‘Unique ID for Persons with Disabilities’ project is being implemented by the Centre with a view to create a national database for PwDs, and to issue a unique disability identity card to each person with disabilities.
Meanwhile, social justice and empowerment minister Tika Ram Jully on Monday gave instructions to the officers to regularly review the portal developed for Navjeevan Yojana and ensure 100% survey of affected people.
