Uk Woman’s Harassment: For Swift Trial, Case To Come Under The Officer’s Scheme | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Jaipur police will include the investigation involving the harassment of a UK woman by a 40-year-old man under the Case Officer Scheme (COS) to expedite the trial and conviction.
The Vidhayakpuri police station arrested Kuldeep Singh, a native of Baran district, on Tuesday for accosting and inappropriately touching a woman while she was walking on a city street on June 15.
Additional commissioner of police (crime) Kailash Chandra Bishnoi told TOI that they would be included in the COS for a speedy trial.
“An officer is specifically assigned under the scheme to issue summons and execute warrants. The designated officer’s responsibilities include constant case supervision,” he said. The incident came to the notice of the Jaipur police when several people shared the video via the WhatsApp and Twitter helplines and responded by filing a case against the accused at the Vidhayakpuri police station.
Bishnoi said that besides the viral video, police have already retrieved the CCTV of the incident which includes snippets of the accused’s involvement in the crime.
“Our teams examined all CCTVs of the area and found some snippets where the accused is following the woman and touching her,” he said.
The city police have also contacted the UK High Commission in India and informed them of the incident.
“We also provided the police’s email address to the woman, requesting her to send her statements via email,” Bishnoi said.
