Vande Bharat Express Accident: Alert pilot averts disaster on Udaipur Jaipur Vande Bharat Train | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: An alert loco pilot saved the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express from a major accident on Monday morning, when he stopped the train in the nick of time after noticing stones and iron rods on the track. The incident took place between Gangarar and Soniyana section, officials of the North Western Railway (NWR) told TOI.
“Around 9.55am, after the train had crossed Chittorgarh, the driver noticed the stones, pebbles and clips used for connecting the tracks, and immediately applied the emergency brakes. There was no damage and the train resumed its journey after the track was cleared… The Railway Protection Force is conducting an inquiry into the incident,” said a NWR official.
Senior police and railway officials reached the spot and inspected the area and a case has been registered.
The semi high-speed Vande Bharat Express on the Udaipur-Jaipur section was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month.
There have been several instances of Vande Bharat trains being targeted across the country. In May, NWR had recorded 13 instances of stone pelting on the Ajmer-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat train.
After the train crossed Chhitorgarh, the driver noticed stones, pebbles and clips on the track, and immediately applied the emergency brakes.
