Virus: Ops: Staff Of Univs, Low-floor Bus Assns To Shun Work Today | Jaipur News

Jaipur: On behalf of the Old Pension Scheme Sanyunkt Morcha Sangharsh Samiti, employees of low-floor bus associations and all the state universities, including medical colleges and universities, will boycott work on August 24 over the issue of depositing money under the old pension scheme (OPS).
The government had issued an order stating that retired employees of autonomous, semi-autonomous bodies and universities, who wish to opt for OPS, are required to deposit in the pension fund the employer’s contribution and interest received at the time of retirement with an interest of 3 per cent on both the components.
In-service employees will have to deposit the employer’s share along with interest in the pension fund.
However, Rajasthan University Teachers Association (RUTA) demanded either the OPS be made unconditional, on a similar pattern as that for government employees, or the amount be deducted from their provident fund (PF) and gratuity at the time of retirement, instead of depositing it now. TNN
