Terror Accused: Hc Reserves Order On Bail Petition Of Terror Accused | Jaipur News

Jaipur: After completion of arguments on the bail application of Jameel Ahmed, who in in jail on charge of fundraising for activities of the Islamic State (IS), Rajasthan High Court on Friday reserved its order.

Ahmed faces charges of collecting funds from countries like India, Bangladesh and the UAE and sending the money by hawala for IS activities in Syria, Turkey and Lebanon. His lawyer told the HC that Ahmed has been in jail for six years and a half while Iqbal, a co-accused in the case, has been granted bail. In the last hearing, NIA counsel TP Sharma had told the HC that the matter was coming to NIA for investigation and urged for a month’s time to be given to it. The state government has also written to NIA to take up investigation of the case.
AAG Rajesh Mehrishi, representing the state government, opposed Ahmed’s bail plea. TNN
