Waste Collection In 4 Zones From April | Jaipur News
Jaipur: After Malviya Nagar and Murlipura zones, JMC-Greater will start regular waste collection in the rest of its zones from April.
The civic body has issued work orders for waste collection vehicles for Jhotwara and Sanganer zones and the work order for Vidhyadhar Nagar and Jagatpura zones will be issued within one month. The waste collection vehicles will have a capacity of 1,200 kilogram increased from 800 kilogram, along with the facility of a helper.
“Tenders had been issued last year to start door-to-door waste collection in the city and now work orders have also been issued for two zones. For the rest of the zones, final work orders will be issued by mid-April,” said an official .
More than 100 big waste collection vehicles will be deployed in Jhotwara and Sanganer zones of JMC Greater. In December, JMC Greater had relaxed certain terms of the tender after it did not get bids in two rounds. The relaxations included financial eligibility of the companies applying and included option of applying for more than one zone. The civic body this time has ensured that the company in-charge of waste collection will ensure that all the vehicles have live tracking system and also install RFID tags outside houses which will be scanned when waste is collected. This will send automatic real-time updates to the monitoring system. TNN
