The incident took place when one of the accused youths asked for a water bottle at the cafe and refused to pay for it. CCTV footage showed that they entered the cafe and assaulted the staffer. They also vandalized the cafe and pulled down its counter. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the cafe.
A police officer stated that Dinesh Kumar Sharma, a resident of Bagruwalo Ka Rasta (Chandpol Bazar), filed a complaint stating that his son, Akshay, owns a cafe named TPC on Jamuna Lal Bajaj Marg in C-Scheme. The cafe offers dine-in services during the day and take-away services at night.
