Hc Reserves Order On Prn Power Supply | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The high court on Wednesday reserved its order on a plea to lift the stay on power connection to residents of the Prithivi Raj Nagar (PRN) housing scheme. The court directed the vigilance department of the power distribution company Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) to file by Thursday its inspection report on the status of the power connection, if any, provided to the petitioners.
Justice Sameer Jain also directed that if the parties wanted to give any more submissions, they could give it within the next three days.
The petitioners’ counsel, Prahlad Sharma, said the petitioners had installed solar power devices in their houses in the absence of a JVVNL connection and they had not resorted to any illegal power connection. The court then directed the vigilance department of JVVNL to inspect the houses of the petitioners and report back to the court. Following a high court order on May 4, 2012, the UDH department had banned fresh power connections in the PRN housing scheme to check illegal constructions. tnn
