The public interest litigation, submitted by Advocate Manas Khatri on behalf of petitioner Hem Singh Rathore and others, seeks to underscore the importance of preserving this precious natural habitat. Additionally, the intention to designate a specific area within the sanctuary as a National Park was signaled through a notification dated 18.05.1981. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change issued a circular on 09.02.2011, outlining guidelines and measures that the State Government needed to adhere to when proposing eco-sensitive zones around wildlife sanctuaries and national parks across the nation.
