Will buy cow dung, gift laptops: Rajasthan Congress | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: Congress’ list of guarantees to Rajasthan voters swelled to seven on Friday after CM Ashok Gehlot‘s teaser of twin women-focused sops two days ago. The new commitments include a law to make the reinstated Old Pension Scheme irreversible, purchase of cattle dung by the state for Rs 2 per kg, and a laptop or tablet to freshers in government colleges.
Gehlot, who made his first two announcements in AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi’s presence at a rally in Jhunjhunu on Wednesday, said at a presser in Jaipur that Congress would provide free English-medium education to all through Mahatma Gandhi English Schools and insurance of Rs 15 lakh to families that suffer major losses in natural calamities.
The first two guarantees were Rs 10,000 annually to every woman head of a family and LPG cylinders at Rs 500 each to 1.04 crore families.
“Purchase of cattle dung to produce biogas will augment farmers income & boost transition to cleaner fuel. We’ll extend English education to colleges,” CM said.
