JAIPUR: A 23-year-old student was allegedly thrashed and raped by a student leader here on Wednesday, police said.
Lal Kothi SHO Surendra Singh said the girl had approached the police station on Wednesday night.
“She alleged that accused Mukesh Punia beat her up and took her to a flat in Jagatpura where he raped her,” Singh said. The girl, a college student, alleged the accused took her to the flat forcefully in a car. Police said the girl then managed to flee from the accused’s captivity and rushed to Lal Kothi police station.
“We filed a complaint after she told us about her ordeal,” Singh said the FIR was filed under relevant sections of the IPC including 376 (rape).
