Women: More women than men voted in Raj; final turnout 75.4% | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: More women voted than men in Rajasthan as the final voting percentage for 199 assembly seats stood at 75.45% (including postal ballots), state’s chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta said. The total turnout on Saturday via EVM machines in the state was 74.62%.
The female voting was recorded at 74.72% and male at 74.53%, Gupta informed. In the 2018 polls in Rajasthan, the voting percentage was 74.72 (including postal ballots).The total turnout via EVM was 74.24% last time.
“There was an increase of 0.73% voting in the 2023 polls over last assembly elections (in 2018),” said Gupta. The highest polling was recorded at Kushalgarh assembly constituency, at 88.13% and the lowest was registered in Ahore assembly seat at 61.24%. In terms of highest polling, Kushalgarh is followed by Pokhran constituency at 87.79%. In terms of lowest voting, Ahore is followed by Marwar Junction at 61.29%.
In this election, as many as 3,92,11,399 votes were cast via EVMs. Of these, 1,88,27,294 votes were cast by women, 2,03,83,757 by men and 348 by third gender voters.
