Women: More women than men voted in Rajasthan; final turnout 75% | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: More women voted in the category than men in the state as the final voting percentage of the assembly elections to 199 seats stood at 75.45%, including postal ballots, said state’s chief electoral officer Praveen Gupta on Sunday. Voting for the state polls concluded on Saturday.
The total turnoutvia EVMs in the state was 74.62%. While the female voting stood at 74.72%, for males, it was 74.53%, he said.Till 11.50pm on Saturday, the voting percentage was 74.96%. In the 2018 state assembly elections, this was 74.72%. The total turnout via EVM machines was 74.24% last time.

“There has been an increase of 0.73% in voting in the 2023 assembly elections over the last one held in 2018,” said Gupta. The highest polling of 88.13% was recorded in Kushalgarh constituency and the lowest at 61.24% in Ahore. In terms of polling, Kushalgarh was followed by Pokhran at 87.79%. Marwar Junction came above Ahore in lowest voting percentage at 61.29.
EVMs accounted for 3,92,11,399 votes cast on Saturday. The maximum increase in voting percentage over the previous election was recorded at Baseri assembly constituency, an increase of 9.6%, followed by Taranagar (7.65%) and Aspur (7.01%). The highest decline in voting was recorded in Phalodi (7.15%), followed by Hindaun (6.10%) and Jaisalmer (4.79%). Elections to the Karanpur assembly seat was adjourned due to the death of the Congress candidate.
