World Cup: Airlines, Tour Agency Fined For Missing Luggage Of Mla’s Son |
Jaipur: District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Jaipur-3, has slapped a fine of Rs 3.21 lakh on Etihad Airways and Shriram Flexi Tour, Jaipur, for leaving behind the luggage of former minister and sitting MLA Kalicharan Saraf’s son at Abu Dhabi during his foreign trip.
TOI has a copy of the commission’s order given on September 17.
MLA Saraf’s son Vivek Saraf told the commission that he had booked tickets for himself and his family members to visit Amsterdam via New Delhi to Abu Dhabi flight on March 26, 2019, by paying nearly Rs 2.01 lakh to the tour companies including Etihad Airways. He stated that he and his family reached Abu Dhabi and took a flight to Amsterdam. “After the family reached Amsterdam, their luggage was not found. It was told to them that their luggage was left at Abu Dhabi. When they had reached Amsterdam, the complainant, his wife and children felt extremely cold. Due to the delay they had to buy clothes for everyone and his health also deteriorated,” said the complaint.
The commission noted that due to missing luggage, the complainant and his family members had to face many problems. “Not only this, the complainant’s daughter was suffering from disease and her medicines and food items were also in the luggage. In such a situation, the condition of the complainant’s daughter also became serious,” said the commission’s chairman Devendra Mohan Mathur and member Seema Sharma.
