World Cup: Hc Fines Govt ₹50,000, Asks It To Recover From Officials | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Hearing a contempt petition, the Rajasthan High Court has imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the state government and asked it to recover it from officers responsible for the non-compliance of the court orders. The court has also asked the authorities to comply with its order on or before September 27.
The court has also asked the Additional Chief Home Secretary and DGP to appear before the court and submit an affidavit stating the reason for not complying with the order so far.
The court has made it clear in its order that if the order is complied with by the next hearing, then the two officers need not appear. A single-judge bench of Justice Mahendra Kumar Goel passed the order while hearing a contempt petition filed by Guddi Devi. It was said in the petition that the petitioner had filed a petition in the High Court when she was not been selected in the constable recruitment-2018.
Later, on October 18, 2019, the High Court had issued orders to give appointment to the petitioner and her notional benefits. Though she was given an appointment still no notional benefits were given to her. Thus, the petitioner approached the court with a contempt petition.
During the hearing, the state government sought a week’s time to comply with the order. Opposing this, the petitioner said that the court had ordered to give the benefit to the petitioner about four years ago, but till now the order has not been complied with. In such a situation, guilty officers should be punished for contempt.

A special court in Pune has rejected the state anti-terrorism squad’s plea to subject DRDO scientist Pradeep Kurulkar to scientific tests in an alleged espionage case. The court stated that the consent of the accused is necessary for such tests. The defense argued that the tests were not essential as electronic devices belonging to Kurulkar had already been recovered. The prosecution had sought the tests to aid in the investigation.
