Jaisalmer: BSF troopers along the Pakistan border in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar foiled on Sunday an attempt to smuggle arms and drugs through a drone, seizing 1.58 kg heroin worth a staggering Rs 8 crore. A carrybag tagged “Lahore Qalandars” was attached to the China-made drone that had fallen near a BSF post in the Kohli area, officials said. The bag contained heroin packets, a foreign-made pistol and eight live cartridges.
Jaisalmer SP Vikas Sharma said a search has been started and blockades set up to nab the smugglers who were to take delivery of the consignment. This is the BSF’s latest success in recent months in foiling bids to smuggle drugs and arms through such drones.
