Kota: A Pocso court in Bundi on Wednesday sentenced a man to 20 years in jail for raping a five-year-old girl of his village under Dablana police station in Bundi district in December 2020. The court also slapped fine of Rs 80,000 on the convict. Public prosecutor, POCSO court 1, Rakesh Thakur said that Ramdev Mali (52) has been sentenced to 20 years in jail for raping a minor girl. The father of the minor survivor on January 4, 2021, lodged a report in Dablana police station. He stated that Mali had tempted his minor daughter with guavas and taken her to his room while the family members were away and raped her there. Thakur said that police lodged a rape case under sections of IPC and Pocso Act against Mali and arrested him after initial investigation and medical examination of the survivor. Since then he had been lodged in jail under judicial custody. Statements of 20 witnesses were recorded during the trial and 21 documents were produced before court, he added. TNN
