Vidhyadhar Singh of PSS said, “The entire tehsil is disappointed. I don’t think that CM Gehlot has lived up to his commitment that people’s sentiments will be respected. Our historic town has been integrated into Jaipur Rural and on the other hand Dudu with three towns have been accorded the status of a district. It is unfair.”
Pooja Chabbra, head of Suratgarh Zila Banao Samiti, said that the residents are hopeful that government will declare district status before the model code of conduct. “The CM cleared in the press conference that more districts will be announced once the Ram Lubhaya Committee will submit its fresh report,” said Chabbra.
Meanwhile, the residents of one of the new districts Shahpura has observed a complete bandh demanding the inclusion of Gulanbpuri town. The report says that residents have cleared that Shahpura has been downsized as part of the conspiracy. “Gulabpura has historical ties with the Shahpura. Keeping it away from the Shahpura is a grave injustice to the people of both towns.
