YG Entertainment and BLACKPINK finally ink an exclusive contract for group activities – read deets
After months of speculation over YG Entertainment and BLACKPINK’s association, they have finally reached an agreement. The final verdict is that Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa will continue to collaborate as a group with the agency.
Confirming the negotiations, YG Entertainment said in a statement, “We have successfully reached an agreement within our board of directors regarding the signing of exclusive group contracts for all four members of BLACKPINK, our esteemed artists.”
More activities and world tours involving BLACKPINK will be planned in the future, the agency promised.Yang Hyun Suk stated, “I am happy to be able to continue my relationship with BLACKPINK. In the future, BLACKPINK will do their best to shine even brighter in the global music market and as a K-Pop artist. I will provide them full support and trust in what they do.”
Back in September, BLACKPINK wrapped a successful world tour ‘Born Pink’. Post this, the buzz about their contract negotiations began. Interestingly, this contract only confirms involvement of group activities and has no mention about the individual contracts of the popular idols. According to Munhwa Ilbo, Lisa has already moved on from YG Entertainment for her individual representation, while others are still in discussion.
