Business to open six days a week in Rajasthan; nod for restaurants, gyms | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: The state government has given its nod to open all permitted businesses from 6am to 4pm on all weekdays and Saturday under the revised three-layered self-discipline modified lockdown guidelines released on Tuesday.
The weekend curfew from Friday 5pm to Monday 5am has been changed to Saturday 5pm to Monday 5am. On Sunday, only essential services will be allowed to open. The move has come after a sharp decline in the number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the state. The Metro service will resume but no passenger will be allowed to travel standing.
The new guidelines allowed restaurants to serve guests from 9am to 4pm which will be complemented by the reopening of monuments and museums. The move will provide a boost for tourism in the state. Restaurant owners have been asked to give information of their reopening and seating capacity on the DoIT web portal. No decision has been taken regarding the reopening of religious places and cinema halls.
Guidelines have no word on lifting ban on marriages
Fully AC shopping malls/complexes have been allowed to open from 6am to 4pm. Shops/businesses can open on an alternate floor basis, while it is the duty of businesses to ensure compliance of Covid protocol by ensuring thermal screening and hand sanitisers at every entry.
The guidelines have no word on lifting the ban on marriages which is to continue till June 30. Giving further relief to businesses, establishments having 10 employees or less will be allowed to function with 100% strength while those with employees above 10 can only have 50% of their staff. The idea is to accelerate business activities in the state. The demand to open restaurants and gyms, especially from among youngsters, has also received the green light.
“The reopening of monuments, museums and restaurants will motivate tourists to visit the state. I feel that the closing time of monuments must be extended to 5pm from 3pm. The opening period of 9am to 3pm, that too when temperatures are touching 40 degrees Celsius, would allow tourists to cover only one monument against 2-3 destinations on usual days,” said Piyush Sharma, a manager of a heritage property in Jaipur. Gym owners, who held a series of protests and demonstrations pressing their demand for reopening, are delighted with the decision. “Gyms are like health centres. It will help people stay fit physically and mentally,” said Chetan Chauhan, an owner of the gymnasium Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur.
