The Indian National Congress (INC) has nominated C Laldintluanga for the South Tuipui (ST) constituency, while MNF has named Dr R Lalthanglianaas its candidate. Jeje Lalpekhlua is contesting from Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM).
In the previous Mizoram Assembly election, the Mizo National Front (MNF) emerged victorious in the South Tuipui seat. In the 2018 election, South Tuipui witnessed a voter turnout of 83.79%, with Dr R Lalthangliana of MNF winning the seat with 6126 votes. John Siamkunga of INC secured the second position with 4657 votes.
