316 Arrested In Dawn-to-dusk Search Op Against Criminals | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Different teams of Jaipur police on Thursday arrested 316 suspects in an ongoing operation against criminals and organised syndicates. Additional commissioner of police (crime) Kailash Chand Bishnoi said a total of 373 suspects were brought to different police stations for questioning, following which 316 were arrested and 28 cases registered.
Bishnoi said out of 28, as many as nine cases were related to the arms Act, and 12 were under the excise Act, along with other relevant sections.
The city police in October 2021 had first launched operation ‘Gangster Clean Bowled,’ wherein cops conducted searches at the house of gangsters designated as “active and hardcore.”
In January, shooters fired at the Days Hotel near Jawahar Circle to threaten its owner for extortion.
After the hotel firing incident, the city has seen a decline in firing cases. “The decline in firing cases is due to the success of our ongoing operation AAG (Action Against Guns) against people who use firearms. We have seized numerous illegal weapons in over 500 cases so far. This allowed us to take preemptive actions against criminals using firearms,” Bishnoi said, adding that quickly arresting suspects in firing cases also helped. Police said they also identified syndicates that regularly used firearms to terrorise people, these check and search raids at the locations of mafias led to organised crime plummeting in Jaipur. “During these joint operations, our teams check and search houses of listed suspects. If we find firearms, we quickly file a case and register a case. This also helps stultifies gangs and their operations,” Bishnoi said.
