5 Country-made Pistols, 19 Live Cartridges Seized, 4 Arrested In Barmer | Jaipur News
Jaisalmer: Balotra police arrested four accused and recovered five country-made pistols and 19 live cartridges on Saturday. Police are quizzing the accused about sale and purchase of weapons and searching for their accomplices.
SP Digant Anand said that Balotra police was keeping an eye on the persons involved in smuggling of drugs and illegal weapons.
“The police team had identified some suspicious people and with the help of informers and technical assistants. During blockading, the team detained four accused from different places in Balotra and recovered five illegal country-made pistols and 19 live cartridges,” said Anand.
Cases were registered against the accused at Balotra police station under Arms Act.
These accused are being inquired about the purchase of weapons and a search was launched for their associates.
The SP said that arrested accused include Imran (23) and Jasraj (23), both residents of Barmer, Devendra (58), a resident of Marwar junction, and Keshav (28), a resident of Bhatala.
