Blood banks may run dry in 3 days due to reduced donation
Blood banks in Pune are facing a shortage of blood due to a decrease in donations during the Diwali vacation. The stock is only sufficient for two to three days, while the demand remains the same. There is a shortage of A, B, and AB blood types, while there are enough O+ units. The supply of platelets for dengue patients is also low. Some hospitals have enough stock, but others are urging people to come forward and donate blood. Blood donation campaigns have been scheduled to replenish the stocks.
