1 Detained, 1 Arrested For Assault On Dausa Woman | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Dausa police on Saturday arrested a 25-year-old man and detained a juvenile for allegedly thrashing and outraging the modesty of a 26-year-old woman who was going to ITI college on Wednesday. At least seven persons attacked the woman who was on a bike with her class fellow. They left after threatening her of gang-rape.
Panic prevailed in Dausa market area on Wednesday when the woman was accosted by seven persons. They began beating her and her classmate. “The accused hit her and even attempted to kidnap her. However, the accused fled when the public protested. Woman and her class fellow were admitted to the hospital,” said Babu Lal Meena, officiating in-charge of Mahila police station on Saturday.
The accused identified as Dharmendra Meena also threatened to gang-rape the woman before leaving. The victim and her father then approached the police. A case under appropriate sections of IPC was also been lodged at the Mahila police station of Dausa on Wednesday itself.
The woman in the FIR stated that she was going to college on Wednesday when at least seven persons attacked her. “She has stated that she was slapped and kicked by the main accused identified as Dharmendra Meena and others. The accused also threatened that nobody is going to help her as she would be gang-raped,” said Babu Lal Meena while quoting the woman’s FIR.
“Meena was initially booked for disturbing peace by Kotwali police station on Thursday and on Saturday he was taken on production warrant from jail. He has now been arrested for assaulting and outraging modesty of the woman. The medical examination of the woman was already been done and her statements recorded,” said the officer.
Local BJP leaders staged a protest over the incident and condemned the police administration as the incident took place in broad daylight.
