3 killed, 4 injured after jeep overturns on highway in Kota | Jaipur News

JAIPUR/KOTA: Three people were killed and four injured when a jeep ferrying seven labourers veered off and overturned on a highway under Ranpura police station area of Kota early on Sunday morning.
The district police listed the victims as Sahab Singh Gurjar, 22, Bannalal Gurjar, 35, and Manbhawan Gurjar, 45, all residents of Dausa district.
“Four passengers were injured in the accident and they have been idenitfied as Vishram Gurjar, 24, Lokesh Gurjar, 18, Sonu Gurjar, 19, and Harkesh Gurjar, 16,” said an official.
Police said that the labourers were returning from Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh after completing tent work there. DSP Harshraj Singh said that a police vehicle found an overturned jeep alongside the highway at 3:30am on Sunday. The jeep’s driver and passengers were stuck inside the vehicle after the accident, he said.
“We rushed the injured to a hospital where two of them were pronounced dead on arrival. One more succumbed to injuries during treatment,” added Singh.
The condition of the four people undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kota is stable, and they are fast responding to the treatment, said police.
One of the injured, Vishram Gurjar, told police that all the passengers were relatives and worked together in setting up decorative tents in Madhya Pradesh.
