Directorate Of Revenue Intelligence And Economic Offences: Govt To Set Up New Agency To Investigate Economic Offences | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Rajasthan government on Thursday announced the setting up of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence and Economic Offences with an aim to investigate economic offences and control cheating cases.
The new directorate will operate under the revenue department, and the state government will create 107 new posts for the same.
There will be a director general at the top, with four additional directors, 10 joint directors, and 20 deputy directors along with others including office assistants etc.
As per the government, the State Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (SRDI) is already operational in the state, the SDRI will be merged with the new directorate.
The government said that the mandate of the newly announced agency would include control, investigation and prosecution of economic offences cases. It will also examine cases related to land grabs, real estate frauds, and irregularities in banking and insurance cases. Besides keeping an eye on sources of revenue collection, the agency will also act against people floating fraudulent companies to dupe people.
