Jaipur: The city police on Saturday arrested a 63-year-old man for allegedly sodomising a minor boy by threatening to release a video of him.
According to circle inspector (CI) Ghanshyam Singh Rathore said that the accused was identified as Rajeev Nangliya, a resident of Kalwar Road in Jaipur.
As per police, the minor’s mother on Thursday filed an FIR that the accused had been sodomizing her son since October last year. She also alleged that the accused took her son to a hotel where he spiked his cold drinks before sexually assaulting him.
As per FIR, the accused threatened the minor boy to release his video and kept on sexually assaulting him. Rathore said that police teams fanned out in different directions as soon as FIR was filed and on Saturday arrested the accused.
Jaipur police suspect that the accused used to lure kids with ice creams and cold drinks and then sexually assaulted them. As per police, the accused may have allegedly also targeted other minors.
The city police in their statement said that the accused is being quizzed to investigate other similar cases of crimes against minors.
He has been booked under IPC Sections 377 (unnatural offences), 363 (kidnapping), and 384 (extortion) along with other relevant sections of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) act.
