Councillors Stage Protest Seeking Beat Sanitation Workers In Their Wards | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Demanding deployment of beat sanitation workers in their wards, around 50 councillors including JMC Heritage mayor and deputy mayor staged a protest at the municipal corporation office on Friday.
The mayor alleged that the file for approval of staff has been withheld by the Rajendra Verma, additional commissioner for the past 15 days and he does not attend phone calls and neither does he meet for discussion.
The mayor also alleged indecent behaviour by the additional commissioner and demanded for him to be removed from the post. As part of the protest, the councillors had locked the additional commissioner in his room and protested outside.
“The kind of indecent language that the additional commissioner has used it will not be tolerated at all and we have written to the chief minister also with only one demand that the official should be suspended, otherwise the protest will continue,” said mayor Munesh Gurjar on Friday evening. The protest was still on till the filing of this copy. In the matter cabinet minister Mahesh Joshi intervened on Friday evening.
