Hry Man Jumps Into Jal Mahal, Dies | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A 26-year-old man died after allegedly jumped into Jal Mahal on Saturday. The Brahmpuri police station house officer (SHO) Rajveer Singh said that the deceased was idenitfied as Irfan, a resident of Mewat in Haryana.

Singh said that the police received a call from people walking alongside the track, reporting that a man was sitting over the wall and suddenly jumped into the lake.
A team of local police and civil defence units responded to the incident and retrieved Irfan’s body after several hours of effort.

“The primary reason for his death appears to be suicide by jumping into the water. However, we have not been able to ascertain why he took this extreme step,” he said.
He said that Irfan was rushed to SMS Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Subsequently, his body was shifted to the mortuary. Cops informed the deceased’s family about the incident and requested them to come to Jaipur to claim the body.
“We searched his belongings and found an identity card which helped us identify him,” said another police official.
Sources mentioned that Jal Mahal was crowded with tourists and locals due to the weekend, and some of them saw Irfan pacing about the wall.
A few minutes later, they saw him jumping straight into Jal Mahal. People rushed to his aid, but they could not do anything, and then they informed the police control room of the incident.
A police team then checked multiple CCTVs around Jal Mahal but could not find anything significant. “We are trying to determine where he was staying in the city and when he had come here,” said an official.
