Bridge Course Reduces Learning Gap | Jaipur News

This bridge course was launched by chief minister Ashok Gehlot last July for students who had learning loss due to the pandemic. Two assessments were done for students in the last year as part of the initiative, said officials.
“After the course was launched last year, workbooks and activity sheets were designed for students of every grade with exercises to map their learning levels. Students were taught the basic concepts that they should know according to their age and the standard they are in, and then two rounds of assessments were done. With this exercise, we have seen that in over 60% students of the state from Classes 3-8, the learning gap has reduced by two levels,” said a senior official from the state education directorate.66
In the bridge course, skill and activity-based workbooks were prepared for more than 75 lakh students. Skill based holistic report cards of students were also prepared along with regular teacher-parent meetings.
Officials further said that to create a healthy competition in classrooms, students were not given numerical marks or percentages but rather grades or markings through number of stars.
