The workers gathered at the party office at 1pm to submit a memorandum to chief minister Ashok Gehlot demanding a CBI probe into the Bhilwara rape and murder case. Police intercepted over 100 of them holding banners, posters and raising slogans against the government at the Civil Lines Phatak. The police first appealed to the protesters to not proceed beyond the Civil Lines of Phatak, but some of them tried to jump the barricade to reach the CM’s residence.
Police present on the ground swung into action and resorted to the lathicharge. “Police used excessive force on our activists injuring 10 of them.
