School: Girl Attacked Outside School With Blade By Another Girl | Jaipur News

Jaipur: A 16-year-old girl studying in Class 11 in a government school situated at Malrana Dungar area of Sawai Madhopur district was attacked with a blade by a 17-year-old girl outside the school. Initially the girl reported she was hit by a woman, but by the evening police had detained a minor girl for the crime.

According to police, the incident took place during lunch time when the girl, identified as Jyoti, stepped out of school premises to have drinking water at a nearby temple.
“Jyoti met a girl who asked her for help in putting eye drops in her eyes. As both went inside the temple premises, the girl asked Jyoti if she could pluck a guava for her from a tree. While Jyoti was trying to pluck the guava, the girl attacked her on the neck with a blade. The girl then managed to flee from the scene,” said a senior officer of Malrana Dungar police station while talking to TOI.

The injured Jyoti was rushed to hospital. As the news of the attack reached her village, a large number of people gathered and shouted slogans against the police and the school administration. Police assured them of taking strict action in the case.
In the evening, the police detained the minor girl, aged about 17 years, for the attack. The police officer said that the parents of Jyoti were looking to get her married to a boy and the girl who attacked her had feelings for the same boy. “This has, so far, emerged as the main reason behind the attack,” the officer said.
The injured girl is stated to be out of danger, the officer added.
