Exploit: Acb Books Former Rpsc Member Katara In Da Case | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) has lodged a case of disproportionate assets against Babulal Katara, a former member of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) and one of the chief accused in the senior teacher recruitment exam paper leak case.
In the FIR filed on Monday, the ACB said that Katara had allegedly accumulated assets amounting to Rs 2.08 crore, which is approximately 61 per cent more than his legitimate sources of income. The ACB also provided a list of both movable and immovable properties belonging to Katara and his family members within the state. ACB officials have said that they have filed a case against him under the provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The ACB also mentioned that they were examining to ascertain the sources of these earnings, as well as to understand the process through which he acquired assets and managed expenses.
In the FIR, the bureau highlighted that in addition to the assets it has already listed, they have suspicions about numerous “benami” movable and immovable assets along with shares, mutual funds, bonds, LIC policies, etc. The ACB has pointed out that these suspicions can only be confirmed after a thorough examination once the case is registered.
Earlier this month, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) provisionally attached properties worth Rs 3.11 crore belonging to the accused in the paper leak case, including Katara, as part of their ongoing investigation under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
