JAIPUR: As the state government looks to prepare Vision 2030 documents for every department, the transport department data shows that two-wheeler accident deaths account for the maximum number of road fatalities in Rajasthan followed by four-wheelers.
Over 4,700 deaths of both two-wheeler riders and passengers occured in 2022. According to official records, 4,782 deaths were reported for two-wheelers and it increased by 13% last year compared to 2021.
In its meeting for Vision 2030, the department found that there should be more emphasis to improve enforcement measures on roads across the state, especially that of wearing helmets. The state road safety department has been focusing on strictly enforcing helmet rules, but officials said that the lack of political will was impacting the drive.
