Financial Setback: Overcoming Rs 50 lakh debt at the age of 30: Anamika Joshi’s inspiring journey | Jaipur News
NOIDA: Anamika Joshi hails from the state of Kerala, where she was born in the small district of Alupura. After completing the 12th grade, her family moved to Jaipur. The reason behind this shift was her father’s mounting debt, which had become insurmountable. Her father was drowning in debt and was harassed by creditors who made threats and uttered harsh words. Anamika had been terrified of debts since childhood, and fate had it that she would find herself in the same whirlpool of debt when she stood on her own feet.
At the age of 30, Anamika had accumulated a debt of Rs 50 lakh.
She started her entrepreneurial journey with her own advertising agency. Anamika pursued her education at the Sri Aurobindo Institute of Mass Communication in Delhi. Afterward, she worked for approximately 6-7 months at an advertising company.
At the young age of 24, she became an entrepreneur
In 2009, Anamika started her own advertising agency with her business partner, her husband Tarun. They successfully ran the agency together until 2015. Then, they ventured into a startup store called “Ootpatang,” specializing in creating signs, marks, and posters. They operated this business for two to three years. Subsequently, they created merchandise for music and movie production houses. This concept is quite popular overseas. Their company collaborated with artists like A.R. Rahman and Justin Bieber. However, with time, Anamika and her husband found themselves sinking in debt, similar to the situation she had witnessed in her childhood.
At the age of 30, Anamika had a debt of Rs 50 lakh, causing immense stress.
Anamika started freelancing when they moved to Jaipur. Her husband, Tarun, began working a job. In 2019, a friend of theirs organized an event on Mother’s Day. Thinking that Anamika, with her background as a copywriter in an ad agency, could also write poetry, the friend invited her to the event. Until then, Anamika had not shared with anyone that she dabbled in poetry.
Her poem dedicated to her mother received much appreciation. This marked the beginning of her poetic journey.
Through writing, Anamika was able to rise above her financial struggles. Her Instagram page, “Batto Ki Bakwaas,” showcases her writing prowess. Today, Anamika is a renowned spoken word artist. “Spoken Word Craft” is an upgraded version of poetry gatherings, allowing her to share her creations with people through online platforms even if there’s no stage available.
