Strike: Govt Notice To Firm Running Ambulances, Stir Enters 13th Day | Jaipur News

Jaipur: As strike by government ambulance employees continued for 13th day, the health department has served notice to EMRI-GHS, a firm which is running the government ambulances, to restore services in the state as per the contract terms clause 10.4 (termination/suspension of agreement) or face termination of contract.
Col Vijay Singh, state head of Rajasthan EMRI-GHS, said, “The employees have only one point agenda which says that they should be included in the list of contractual workers directly engage by NHM. Thus, the grievance of the union (ambulance staff) is not related to the organisation.”
On restoring service, Singh said, “Currently 843 ambulances are operational in Rajasthan. 905 new staff have been recruited and deployed them on ambulances. So far, 670 separation letters have been issued. Recruitment process for new staff will be continuing. Interested drivers willing to join immediately may attend on the spot recruitment at respective district CMHO offices.”
The notice was issued to the company on September 11 and the government had given 24-hour time to restore the services.
The striking ambulance employees’ leader Suja Ram Saran, on Wednesday, said, “The government ambulance service has not been restored yet.”
