Zambia: ‘implement Rth Act Before Declaring Assembly Poll Dates’ | Jaipur News

Jaipur: With political parties getting ready for upcoming assembly elections, the health rights activists are worried about the implementation of Right To Health Act in the state.
“Soon, model code of conduct will be enacted in the state for the assembly elections, but the RTH Act has not been implemented yet,” said Chhaya Pachauli, the state coordinator of JSA Rajasthan.
“In a day or two or very soon, the elections will be announced in the state. We want that RTH Act to be implemented before model code of conduct is enacted in the state. After the announcement of the elections, the probability of its implementation will reduce,” she said.
Public health experts working on health issues have expressed concerns regarding the delay in framing and notification of rules for the Right to Health Act. The Act gives certain specific rights to the patients for their better care and treatment.
Activists have questioned the government’s intent in implementing the Act in its true spirit. They have demanded that the process be expedited and rules be framed at the earliest, in the absence of which the Act remains just on paper and people continue to remain deprived of rights and provisions stipulated under it. Activists have demanded that the rules be framed and notified before the election code of conduct for upcoming assembly polls comes into force.
