Raje: Raje Turns Out To Be Star Campaigner For Bjp With 53 Rallies | Jaipur News

Jaipur: Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje held 53 campaign rallies, the highest by any BJP leader in the state, in the recently concluded assembly polls.
In contrast, others contesting the polls, like the leader of the opposition, Rajendra Rathore, former state president Satish Poonia, Sawai Madhopur candidate Kirori Lal Meena, and Jhotwara candidate Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, were largely confined to their constituencies. As the party officials begin to debate the CM’s face in Rajasthan, Raje’s camp expects at least 40 of their loyalists to win the polls.
The votes will be counted on December 3. “From November 4, she conducted 53 rallies covering 70 constituencies. She held an average of three rallies per day,” said a BJP leader, requesting anonymity. Her rallies were low-key, despite the huge crowd. “It was focused on issues like crime against women, corruption, and the achievements of PM Modi’s schemes and her previous government (2013–2018),” the party leader added.
Meena, who claimed to have an impact in 25–30 seats in eastern Rajasthan, was largely confined to his constituency, Sawai Madhopur, in a triangular contest with Congressman Danish Abrar and BJP rebel Asha Meena. He could campaign in 5–6 seats.
“Due to rebel candidate Asha Meena, he could not take the risk of campaigning in Meena community strongholds. He is an established leader who has the art of drawing huge crowds in eastern Rajasthan and in Jaipur. The party has always benefited from his presence in protests and marches in Jaipur,” said the leader.
Rathore, the leader of the opposition, has found himself trapped in his constituency of Taranagar, taking on Congress candidate Narendra Budania. “He could manage to campaign for BJP candidates in Fatehpur and Churu. Neither he could join the manifesto release of the party nor be able to campaign in favour of his close aides. Known for his well-researched speeches, the party could have used him to level allegations against the Congress that were not effectively addressed by other state leaders,” said the party leader.
Poonia, too, could not go beyond 8–10 constituencies for campaigning as he was facing a tough battle from Congress candidate Prashant Sharma.
