Forced To End Protest: Docs On Contract | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Unemployed or contractual doctors protesting at the health directorate to demand an increase in posts from 1,765 to 4,500 were allegedly picked up by police on Tuesday night and were taken out of the city on Kalwar road and let off. The doctors were dispersed but they alleged that they were forced to end their peaceful protest.
“We were demanding peacefully that the government should increase the number of posts for recruitment from 1,765 to 4,500. The government has recruited 1,765 doctors, but it has a lot more vacancies that need to be filled up. We are ready to go to rural areas to strengthening the healthcare facilities,” said Dr Vinod Bagra, president, All Rajasthan MBBS Doctors’ Association.
He said while they were camping at health directorate for past few days, cops came at midnight and picked up from spot and let off at a place on Kalwar road. tnn
