Phed: Phed Prepared To Commission Bisalpur-ii Project By Mid-april | Jaipur News
Jaipur: The commissioning works for the new installations under Bisalpur-II project will start from mid-April and will be completed within the stipulated deadline of June 2023.
Officials have claimed, at present, last minute work for the project is going on.
“We are carrying out a few important tasks at the newly installed filters at the Surajpura filter pump. Laying down of new pipelines to augment the water supply in the Walled City had already started. Like these jobs, we have a few last-minute tasks then we are going to start commissioning new installations of this project from mid-April,” said a PHED engineer.
This project was initiated in June 2020 to augment the capacity of drinking water to 5.26 lakh existing households and to provide at least three lakh new connections.
The initial deadline of the project was October 2022 and then it was revised to March 2023. However, in December PHED officials had set a revised deadline of June 2023 and work is going according to plan.
“The best part is that for the remaining works we do not have to wait for any clearance. During the two-day closure we had completed all the sensitive works. Now we just need to finish the remaining jobs as per schedule and complete the project,” said another engineer.
Under this Bisalpur II project PHED would supply 216 MLD of extra water from Bisalpur Dam to Jaipur and areas enroute.
Once the project is in place, 27 pumps would work simultaneously to supply the additional water. Among these, 12 pumps (with 6 standby) would operate at the Surajpura filter plant, 6 (with 3 standby) at the intermediate pump house at Renwal and 3 (with 6 standby) in Balwala in Sanganer.
“Raw water from Bisalpur will first go to Surajpura for filtration and from there filtered water would be pumped and supplied to the intermediate pump house in Renwal. From the Renwal pump house water would be pumped to Balawala.” said another engineer.
“From Balawala the drinking water will reach the different pump houses in the city and finally to the households. We are not changing the main pipeline that was laid in 2009 covering 96 km. We had just cut the pipeline in Renwal and connected it with the new pump house,” he added.
