Dial 1930 To Increase Chances Of Recovering Money In Fraud Cases | Jaipur News
Jaipur: Victims of cyber financial fraud can quickly lodge a complaint on the 1930 helpline to block money going into scammer’s accounts.
Director CDTI (Central Detective Training Institute) Dr Amandeep Kapoor said that victims should immediately dial the helpline so that payments could be blocked.
“We advise victims to call up the helpline immediately once they learn of the fraud. This helps to block the payments and retrieve the money,” he said.
According to Kapoor, several victims have received their money back. “Several victims who complained promptly on the helpline found that their money was returned to them after some time. The time is of utmost importance here,” he added.
He also said that people need to be aware of cyber hygiene while doing online transactions. “People can set routine reminders about their bank’s every transaction. Also, suspicious messages should be discarded,” he said. “Prevention is a shield. Do not pay attention to any of the fraudulent messages about KYC, electricity bills, etc,” he further said.
