Kota: Minor Boy Critical As Air Gun Goes Off Accidentally | Jaipur News

KOTA: A 17-year-old boy was critically injured after a pellet of an air gun he was playing with accidentally fired and entered his brain through one of eyes at his home in Jhalipura village under Kaithun police station of Kota on Wednesday. The minor was rushed to Kota’s MBS Hospital, where doctors advised his parents to take him to a higher health centre.
The incident occurred when Manikaran Singh, son of Randeep Singh, a resident of Jhalipura village under Kaithun police station of Kota district, was showing his siblings the gun, which was kept at the main gate of their house. The boy had recently finished his class 10 exam and was playing with other children of the family when the air gun accidentally triggered, Parvender Singh, the injured boy’s uncle told reporters. It was also likely that some other boy accidentally fired the gun, he added.
The boy was brought to the emergency at MBS Hospital and after the initial examination it was found the pellet penetrated into his brain through one of his eyes and the condition was critical, said Dr Neeraj Devenda of the surgery department at MBS Hospital.
It was not possible to remove the pellet through surgery and he was nearly brain dead, he said. The parents were advised to take the patient to higher health centre, he added. Singh said the boy was being taken back to Kota’s MBS hospital on Thursday evening after examination at Medanta hospital in Gurugram earlier in the morning. The boy was still unconscious and doctors there advised to wait till he regained consciousness.
Singh alleged that the patient was not attended at SMS Hospital in Jaipur and therefore he was taken to Medanta hospital. Police did not receive any complaint in this connection, however Kaithun police station was aware of the incident.
