Couple Killed, 2 Of Family Hurt As Ambulance Hits Bike In Kota | Jaipur News

Kota: A 30-year-old man and his wife were killed, and their three-year-old daughter and the man’s mother sustained injuries, on Gumanpura flyover in the city on Thursday forenoon when a speeding ambulance hit the motorbike he was riding with the three others on the pillion.
The ambulance driver was allegedly in a drunken condition and was driving the vehicle at a high speed.
It went out of control, jumped to the other side of the divider and smashed the bike head on, causing one of the two women on bike to be flung over the flyover’s wall and fall around 15 foot below on the road. The ambulance driver also sustained injury in the mishap.
Police said Pavan Vaishnav, 30, a resident of Kapren area in Bundi district, and his wife Manbhar, 26, died while their daughter Naksu and Vaishnav’s mother, Surja, sustained critical injuries in the mishap. It was Manbhar who fell off the flyover. The family of four was returning home on a motorbike after darshan at a temple, and the accident took place on the flyover at around 11.30am, said the circle officer of Gumanpura area, DSP Amar Singh.
“The ambulance jumped over the divider and hit the motorbike coming from the opposite direction. The medical report on the inebriated state of the ambulance driver, identified as Surendra, is yet to be received,” he added.
Police registered a case against Surendra and sent the two bodies for post-mortem. The injured toddler and her grandmother are under treatment at a hospital, said Gumanpura police station SHO Mukesh Meena. The ambulance was reportedly attached to the CMHO’s office.
