Jaipur: A 19-year-old girl hanged herself to death at her house at Diwakari village under NEB police station of Alwar on Saturday. Since no suicide note was found, police are yet to ascertain the reason behind her drastic act.
The body of Bharti Jaatav was handed over to her family after post-mortem on Sunday. Police said her body was found hanging from the ceiling of a room in her house. She hanged herself when her mother was out to buy grocery and her brother played with his friends near the house, said police.
“Upon her return, he victim’s mother found the main door of the house locked from inside. Both mother and son did not get any response from inside when they knocked and called aloud. Expecting the worst, they informed the police control room and called their neighbours,” said a police officer on Sunday.
A police team reached the spot and unlocked the house. “The girl was found hanging from the ceiling. We did not find any suicide note. The parents were unable to cite any reason behind the girl’s suicide,” said the officer. The victim had shown no signs of her plan to take the extreme step, her mother told police.
