Criminal Shot Dead Over Land Dispute In Karauli, 2 Detained | Jaipur News
Jaipur: A 26-year-old history-sheeter was shot dead by unknown assailants near his under-construction house in Suroth area in Hindaun city of Karauli over a land dispute on Sunday morning. Police have detained two persons and are questioning them. The deceased, Ajay Pal Jat, sustained five bullet injuries in the attack.
According to police, Jat left his house on a bike to give payments to labourers working for his under-construction house at 8.30 am on Sunday. “At least 15 armed assailants intercepted his bike and stopped him. Of these, 5 to 6 assailants opened fire in which Ajay sustained bullet injuries on his head, lower abdomen and chest and fainted on the spot. His brother Asharam rushed to the spot but he was thrashed by the assailants,” said a senior officer of Suroth police station area.
The family lodged an FIR against 15 persons and held the uncle of the deceased responsible for the murder. “The brother of the deceased, Asharam, has stated in the FIR that his uncle had planned and executed a similar attack on Ajay Pal Jat almost eight years ago as the family had a prolonged property dispute,” the officer said.
A large number of senior police officers including Kishori Lal, deputy superintendent of police, Hindaun city also reached the spot. “We have registered a case of murder against 14 persons in this case. So far we have detained two persons and are questioning them. The accused have been identified as Ramesh, Laxman, Vishvendra, Varun, Dharmendra, Harendra, Munendra, Mukesh, Narendra, Dataram, Lala Ram and Harendra Singh,” Kishori Lal said.
According to police, the houses of the accused persons are within an area of 100 to 500 meters away from the place where the deceased lived. “All of them are on the run. We have constituted a team and the accused would be arrested,” the officer added.
