Acb Nabs Agri Dept Babu For Taking 1l Bribe | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: A regional deputy director of the agriculture marketing department in Hanumangarh was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.
The accused, Subash Saharan, who also has the additional charge of secretary of Krishi Upaj Mandi of Ravatsar, had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh initially from the complainant to give a report in his favour to ensure he gets a subsidy from the agriculture marketing department.
Hemant Priyadarshi, the additional director general of ACB who has the additional charge of the bureau’s director general, said a person had lodged a complaint with ACB saying the Saharan had been demanding the bribe with the promise that he would make the report in a manner that the complainant gets a good grant from the department.
After the complaint was received, ACB sleuths verified it and then laid a trap on Friday. “As per the trap plans, the complainant visited the accused and handed him the bribe money, which were the marked currency notes of Rs 1 lakh. Our team immediately recovered the marked currency notes from the possession of the accused and arrested him. A case under appropriate sections of Prevention of Corruption Act was lodged against him,” said a senior ACB officer.
Soon after the arrest, searches were conducted at the residential and office premises of Saharan. Further details on the findings of the searches are awaited.
