Viral Photo: Cop Put Under Apo, Photo With Monu Manesar Goes Viral | Jaipur News

Jaipur: The government on Monday placed senior Rajasthan Police Service (RPS) officer Vipin Sharma under awaiting posting orders (APO), an action believed to be a response to a viral photograph of the officer alongside murder accused Monu Manesar currently on the run.

According to the order, Sharma, who was recently appointed as additional DCP (south) in Jaipur, has been placed under APO.
Although the official order did not explicitly state the reason behind this decision, it is widely speculated that a specific photograph showing him alongside Manesar played a role. The photograph is believed to be taken before the murder of Nasir and Junaid. Sharma’s photograph gained prominence on social media soon after the murder incident, which subsequently garnered national attention.

Previously, Sharma had been stationed in Alwar before being reassigned to Jaipur. He was sent to Jaipur for the post of additional DCP (South), although he had not yet officially assumed his new role here.
Following the circulation of the photograph, numerous officers began shying away from taking pictures with unknown individuals in police premises. During a recent major overhaul of the state police in the past few weeks, many farewell ceremonies of inspectors and circle officers were limited to station staff and a few trusted Community Liaison Group members.
