After a gap of three years, direct Haj flights to start from May 21 from Jaipur airport | Jaipur News
JAIPUR: After a gap of three years, Jaipur International Airport will start operations of Haj flights from May 21.
All the flights will be operated from Terminal 1 of the airport from May 21 to June 6.
During this period, a total of 27 departures will take place from Terminal 1, preparations for which are in the full swing, said officials from Jaipur International Airport.
“From May 21-27, one flight of Air India will take off daily at 11am and will reach Medina at 13.55pm. From May 28 onwards another AI flight will also start operations and will depart daily to Medina at 9.35am from Terminal 1 of Jaipur Airport. In all both the flights will account for 27 departures from Jaipur. Meanwhile, returning flights will be operational from July 3-24,” said an official spokesperson of Jaipur airport.
Due to Covid Pandemic, Haj flights have remained suspended since 2020 and for last two years the Haj flights were operating from New Delhi and all the passengers from Jaipur had to go there to board the flight.
“Earlier the Haj flight from Jaipur used to land at Jeddah but now Haj flights will directly land at Medina. We have decided to start the Haj Flights from Terminal 1 to ensure no inconvenience to Passengers. We are constantly holding meetings with concerned government departments, officials and Haj Committee representatives and preparations are in the full swing,” said a senior official of Airport administration.
Officials further said that special arrangements are being done at Terminal 1 of the airport including deployment of additional CISF personnel, private security guards, installation of Custom and immigration counters, sitting arrangements, separate prayer rooms for male and female passengers.
