Akshay Kumar’s Mission Raniganj gets a standing ovation from the CBFC members | Hindi Movie News

During his last release OMG 2, Akshay Kumar had a run in with the Censor Board as they asked 27 cuts in the film and awarded it an ‘ Adults Only’ certificate. But for his upcoming film Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue, nothing of this sort is happening. The censor board is extremely happy with the film and has awarded it a U/A certificate.

Mission Raniganj is based on real life hero Jaswant Singh Gill who raced against time and rescued the miners trapped in the flooded coal mine in Raniganj in November 1989, Akshayplays Jaswant Singh Gill in the film.This will also be Akshay’s last film for the year.
It is also being reported that CBFC members gave the film a standing ovation. A source present at the screening shared that the board members were moved by the real-life story which has been told in a larger than life way on the big screen. They praised the film and called it an ’emotionally moving yet inspiring film’.
Akshay will be sharing screen space with a host of actors like Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Ravi Kishan, Jameel Khan etc in the film. The film is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai who last worked with Akshay in Rustom, which was a runaway success at the box office.
Akshay has a host of releases lined up for next year starting with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan where he teams up with Tiger Shroff, Manushi Chhillar and Alaya F. Then he will reprise the role of Veer Sooryavanshi in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again and play a pilot in Dinesh Vijan’s Sky Force. And he will end the year with Welcome to the Jungle, the third installment in the Welcome franchise which will see him once again team up with Paresh Rawal, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi.
